I really enjoy hearing from all of you as you move into this new journey. Your individual journey into sobriety. Each of you that have shared, have a tremendous amount of courage and strength. As you move through these baby steps of your sobriety, please be careful with how your inner critic emerges. This inner critic is not invested in your sobriety. This voice is a familiar friend that has been present at the worst moments and actually thrives on that energy of failure, pain and anger.
Right now your focus is on the sober moments you are experiencing. You have made agreements and you are learning how to keep these agreements of sobriety. From there you move into a moment of presence and building on that next moment of presence. These moments strung together are like jewels of a prized necklace that have high value. You will not even fully realize this value right now. That’s ok. That’s normal. Enjoy normal. Your challenge at this time is to oust your inner critics’ voice in favor of a more balanced inner coach. This coach is your adviser and cheerleader. Look for this coach, introduce yourself to your coach and begin creating the relationship that will help you see that you are a warrior. You are in the midst of developing a new you, healthy, happy and in harmony with the life you deserve. Moment by moment, step by step, life is good and pleasure is yours to enjoy. Thank you all for undertaking this great work.
My love to you….
